Heavy rains overnight left the Grammar School Playing Field waterlogged, hence both matches on Saturday in the Dovers Electrical Services East Kingstown Sports Association Softball Cricket Competition were abandoned without a ball being bowl.

Customs, Spartans, Buccament Bay and Bank of SVG All Stars, which were scheduled to play, were awarded 4 points each.

On Sunday, in the first game, Combine Forces won Attackers 2 by default route after Attackers 2 failed to show up for their scheduled games.

Also on Sunday, Buccament Bay beat Just for the Fun on faster scoring rate.

Buccament Bay were dismissed for 107 off their 20 overs, after being 71 without loss after 11 overs at one stage.

Rawle Stapleton slammed 32 and Lorenzo Degrads made 26. Wayne William grabbed 4 for 9 and Rawlson Nanton 2 for 13, bowling for Just for the Fun. In reply, Just for the Fun were 64 for 4 off 11.3 overs when rain came.

In the other game on Sunday, Attackers 1 won by the default over Valley boys after Valley Boyz failed to show up for their scheduled game.

The teams advancing to quarterfinal are:

Zone 1: Attackers 1, Alcoholix, Dr. Thomas Injectors and C.K. Greaves Stars

Zone 2: General Hardware Richmond Hill United is the only team to advance so far, and the other spots will be decided after games this weekend.
