Today, Oct. 6, is a day when Lions around the World join to show by example, the objectives of Lionism and ethical practices that they uphold.
In keeping with these activities the world over, the Lions Club of St. Vincent South will today hand over vouchers to 20 farmers for seedlings and other farming implements such as tools, bags of feed, under the Club’s soon to be launched Farmer’s Support Project. Monetary contributions will be given to some farmers to offset other costs such as payment of workers. All vouchers will be redeemed at the Agricultural Input Warehouse.
Additionally 100 broiler chicks and bags of feed will be distributed to the Adelphi Secondary School as part of the phase 2 component of this project in an effort to buttress the school’s agricultural programme. On Sept. 16, the Club also purchased and donated a pig and a bag of feed to Gracel Durrant.
The Club’s Agricultural project is valued at $20,000 and is made possible through a donation from a supporter of the club.
The donations will be handed over during a press conference today, at Computec’s Conference Room at 10 a.m.
Great going Lions Club South.
Keep up the good work.
