The two Vincentian fishermen who were missing at sea since Monday have been rescued, the Coast Guard announced on Thursday.
The Police Force said in a press statement that the two men were rescued in Grenada Wednesday night.
Reports are that the fishermen, Ellis Roberts, who originates from Clare Valley and a male who goes by the alias “Swaller”, both residents of Kingstown, were rescued in Grenada waters on Wednesday night by a fishing vessel.
They arrived on mainland Grenada, Thursday morning.
The men left Kingstown to fish west of St. Vincent and the Grenadines wound 6 a.m. on Monday, but were not seen since until they were rescued.
They were onboard the vessel “Sunil”, with registration number J8-781CA and were expected to return to Kingstown on Monday evening.
A missing persons report was made to the Coast Guard on Tuesday evening.
The Coast Guard had requested aerial support from Trinidad and Tobago in search of the men.
