Vincy students being offered up to EC$8,000 in scholarships

Students from St. Vincent and the Grenadines who demonstrate strong academic achievement, and need financial support to pursue a bachelor’s degree are invited by Island Scholars Inc. to apply for scholarships.

A maximum of EC$8,000 will be awarded to each student selected for the 2017- 2018 academic year.

Applications should be submitted online at www.islandscholars.org. The deadline is June 30, 2017.

Scholarship recipients will be notified by July 31, 2017.

Island Scholars Inc., a non-profit organisation located in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, was started in 2014 by Ronald Rose. The mission is to provide merit- and needs-based college/university scholarships to promising students from St Vincent and the Grenadines.

In 2015, Island Scholars awarded six scholarships totalling EC$41,800. Those scholarships were renewed in August 2016 to students who maintained a grade point average of 3.0 or better and continued to have a financial need.

In addition, seven new students were awarded scholarships totalling EC$44,000. Scholarships will be renewed in August 2017 if the students meet the eligibility requirements.
