Triple murder accused Schemel “Jacket” Dunbar of Rillan Hill will be in court again ahead of the Nov. 27, 2017 commencement of preliminary inquiries into three murder charges against him.
Dunbar, 28, will reappear in court on Sept. 18, for hearing on an assault charge.
He has been charged that on Feb. 15, 2017 at Rillan Hill, he assaulted fellow villager Havan Small, causing actual bodily harm.
Dunbar was not at the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court when Magistrate, Bertie Pompey, called the matter on Monday.
Prosecutor, Station Sergeant of Police Elgin Richards told the court that Dunbar was absent because of a miscommunication with prison authorities.
Dunbar, who has already beaten two murder charges, is awaiting the commencement of a preliminary inquiry into the May 4, 2017 murder of Police Constable, Danroy Cozier, 26, of Mesopotamia, and his younger brother, Nicholas Cozier, 19 of Richmond Hill.
He is jointly charged along with fellow Rillan Hill man, Kendine Douglas, 31, and Richard Francis, a 32-year-old van driver from Layou. All three have been jointly charged with the men’s murder.
The brothers’ bodies were found on May 4, 2017 under some trees near the beach at Sion Hill Bay.
The accused men are also charged with one count of conspiracy to commit murder, allegedly committed on May 4, 2017 at Rillan Hill.
Last week Wednesday, June 14, police charged Dunbar with the March 12, 2017 murder of Malcolm Pollin, 52, of Vermont.
Pollin was shot dead on the road as he attempted to escape armed assailants who accosted him at his home.
