The man who was charged with the September 2011 shooting death of his wife and another woman and the injury of two others in Campden Park in what witnesses described as a “shooting spree”, has pleaded guilty to two counts of murder, four counts of attempted murder, and 11 other charges.

On Monday, at the High Court in Kingstown, George Franklyn, also known as “Chocolate”, pleaded guilty to a charge that he murdered his wife, Ingrid Jack-Franklyn on Sept. 13, 2011 at Campden Park.

The killings are said to have occurred on a day when the Franklyns were due in court to finalise their divorce.

He also pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of a firearm to aid in the murder of Jack-Franklyn.

Franklyn told the court that he was also guilty of the murder of Marva James as well as using a firearm to aid in her murder.

Franklyn also pleaded guilty to a charge of aggravated burglary, in that he entered the dwelling house of Marva James as a trespasser and, at the time, had with him a weapon of offence, to wit, a firearm.

The man also told the court that he was guilty of the attempted murder of Sharon James and that he was also guilty of unlawfully discharging a firearm at Sharon James.

The man also pleaded guilty to charges of attempted murder of Sharon James, Desroy Lavia, Simeon James, and Desroy Jack.

Another charge was that Franklyn used a firearm to aid in the commission of the offence of grievous bodily harm on Simeon James.

He was further charged that he had in his possession an Llama Minimax .45 pistol, serial number 07-04-13581-99 without a licence under the Firearm Act and possession of four rounds of .45 ammunition without a licence.

Franklyn also pleaded guilty to a charge that he entered the dwelling house of Nolly Jack
as a trespasser and at the time had with him a weapon of offence, to wit a firearm.

Another charge of aggravated burglary was that he entered the dwelling house of Jennifer Jack-Warren as a trespasser and, at the time, had with him a weapon of offence, to wit a firearm.

Franklyn also pleaded guilty to the attempted murder of Desroy Jack and that he used a firearm to aid in the commission of the offence of wounding of Desroy Jack.

All of the crimes were committed at Campden Park on Sept. 13, 2011.

Franklyn will be sentenced next Tuesday.

  1. I hope because the wheels of justice turns slowly, but exceedingly sure. Do I hear a pronouncement of the death penalty?
