Some 8,650 sacks of cement and other items value EC$162,101 have been stolen from a hardware .

Police said on Tuesday that they are investigating a report of theft made on Monday, July 30 by Maxwell Joseph, 47, an inventory analyst, of Twenty Hill, South Leeward.

The Police Relations Department said, on Tuesday, that reports are that between 8 a.m. Jan. 2, 2018 and 10 a.m. on Jan. 18, 2018 at Diamond, some unknown person(s) stole 8,650 sacks of cement, value EC$162,101; a quantity of lumber, value EC$18,103; and 308 lengths of ½” steel rods, value EC$5,000.

The total value of the items stolen was EC$185,246.37, the property of the Coreas Hazells Inc.

“Police are urging anyone with information to contact the Officer in charge of the Criminal Investigations Department at 1-784-456-1810,” the police said in their regular bulletin.

    Lots of people must have seen the theft of this material
    which had to have been organized by persons with access to several large trucks likely colluding with insiders.
