Guardian General Saints put up a strong performance to out stage Victors One in a low scoring thriller at the Sion Hill Playing Field in weekend four, Feb. 8&9, of the SVG Cricket Association Inc. national cricket season 2020.

Guardian General Saints only managed 93 at their first turn at bat, with Jeremy Layne scoring 27, Luke Wilson 4 for 27 and Cody Dabreo 2 for 25 combined forces with the ball for Victors One.

Victors One fared a tad better in their first innings, as they were dismissed for an even 100.

Atticus Browne and Norlan Williams both made 39. Jeremy Haywood did the damage with the ball for Guardian General Saints, bagging 5 for 22.

Seven runs adrift on first innings, Guardian General Saints were dismissed for 117 in their second time around with Alex Samuel getting 35.

Norlan Williams picked up 4 for 28 and Ronaldo Franklyn 3 for 14.

Set 101 for victory, Victors One fell short, at 82 all out. Kimson Dalzell contributed 35. Ray Charles ripped through the top order of Victors One, taking 5 for 19 to secure the win.

Police Two took first innings points from Team Rivals at the main Arnos Vale Playing Field. Team Rivals only managed 137 all out in their first innings. Lindon James stood out with 63. There were two wickets apiece for Kesrick Williams 2 for 17 and Slyvan Spencer 2 for 30 bowling for Police Two, who replied with 219 all out, and was once again led by Salvan Browne with 81.

Hyron Shallow was the pick of the Team Rivals bowlers taking 6 for 53. Team Rivals fared much better batting a second time and were 157 for 1 when the stumps were pulled.

Hyron Shallow made 91 and Kody Horne was left not out on 56.

In the National Lotteries 50 Overs First Division, Pollard Investments North Windward Combine out stocked CJ Julius Anthony MSDA Northern Stars by 130 runs at Arnos Vale Two.

Pollard Investments North Windward Combine rattled up 287 all out in 45.3 overs with valuable contributions from Kerwin Williams 59, Orwin Williams 50 and Julian Edwards 43.

Mayor Edwards 3 for 29 was the best bowler on show for CJ Julius Anthony MSDA Northern Stars, who fell well short in reply; 157 all out in 21.5 overs.

Only OJ Matthews with 58 put up any resistance. Deswayne Williams 3 for 27 and Dean Browne 3 for 36 were the most successful bowlers for Pollard Investments North Windward Combine. 

At the London Playing Field, Vee Jay’s Roof Top and Bar North Windward won the fixture of the restaurant franchises when they had the better of the French Verandah SVG Community College by 44 runs.

Vee Jay’s Roof Top and Bar North Windward, propelled by a 10th wicket stand of 98, totalled 253 all out in 33.2 overs.

Elroy Brackin was in a no nonsense mood, smashing 73 from 33 deliveries.

Jerden Jacobs 3 for 36 and Reynolson Hillocks 3 for 79 picked up wickets for the French Verandah SVGCC who were restricted to 209 all out in 36 overs.

Derron Matthews stroked 62.

Denson Hoyte 4 for 47 and Haniff Ollivierre 3 for 42 ensured four more points for Vee Jay’s Roof Top and Bar North Windward.
