St. Vincent ad the Grenadines recorded its 24th homicide this year with the shooting death of a man in Paul’s Avenue on Saturday.

Police said on Tuesday they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of the man, Austin Elson Gloster, 35, a labourer of Barrouallie, which occurred about 9:15 a.m.

“According to investigations, members of the Major Crime Unit (MCU) were alerted about a shooting incident in Paul’s Avenue. On arrival at the scene, Gloster’s lifeless body was met with what appeared to be gunshot wounds,” police said in a statement.

A post-mortem examination will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death.
