The annual Bequia Easter Regatta Festival and Union Island Easterval have been cancelled for the second consecutive year as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The Ministry of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Sustainable Development and Culture made the announcement Wednesday afternoon, two days before the Easter holidays begin.
“The protocols regarding gatherings implemented by the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment remain in effect, for the safety of citizens and visitors to our destination,” the tourism and culture ministry said.
“The committees for both events look forward to welcoming patrons to the ultimate Easter celebration in 2022,” the announcement added.
Not so fast! 2023 or 4 could be the right time to consider any gathering.
