The Ministry of Education is urging parents and guardians “to use discretion related to school attendance and exercise caution, as moderate to heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms continue
across the island”.
The minister asked principals and teachers to engage students where possible via Microsoft Teams and other recommended platforms.
“Drivers transporting the children to and from school should remain alert,” the ministry said, noting that based on the the Met Office’s forecast, a flash flood watch is now in effect for St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Forecaster said that the watch will remain in effect until noon on Wednesday, as up to two inches of rain is forecast.
