A Georgetown woman died in hospital around 2:30 a.m. today (Saturday), about two hours after being struck by a car in the north-eastern community.
Dead is Marla Browne, said to be in her 50s, a clerk, of Spring Village, Georgetown.
Initial reports are that Browne was struck by motor vehicle PW510, a blue Lexus, driven by one Luther Jackson, who was travelling in the direction of Rabacca from Mt Young.
Browne sustained injuries and was taken to the Georgetown Hospital, where doctors later pronounced her dead.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
