Police have responded to a report of a “shootout” in Rillan Hill, which resulted in damage to at least one parked vehicle.
The shooting occurred in the area of the community known as “Village” sometime after 10 a.m.
Details about what occurred are sketchy but iWitness News understands that police are looking into the possibility that at least two people might have been shooting at each other.
There were no immediate reports of injuries as police secured the areas and combed for evidence.
One resident said they were awoken by the sound of gunfire and estimated that about 10 rounds might have been discharged.
Another resident said they took refuge inside their home after the gunfire rang out.
The community is making headlines for the second time in days as one of its members, Jamarlo “Ice’ Dunbar, was shot and killed in Arnos Vale, on Saturday.
Dunbar, 31, had been living in Pole Yard at the time of this death.
iWitness News is not aware of any link between Dunbar’s death and the gunfire Wednesday morning.
