The son of a prominent pastor is slated to appear before the Family Court on Thursday in connection with an alleged sex act reportedly involving a 13-year-old girl.

The child is alleged to have performed oral sex on the man at the church building during a youth activity recently, a well-placed source told iWitness News.

The source did not disclose the identity of the accused man, preferring to await his appearance in court.

However, iWitness News was reliably informed that the alleged sex offender was charged on Wednesday and granted bail and ordered to appear before the Family Court on Thursday morning.

A person who is convicted at the magistrate’s court level of a charge of indecent assault of a person who is less than 15 years old can be sentenced to a maximum of five years imprisonment.

If it was someone else their name would of been plastered all over the news media. But because he is a pastor’s son, pastor and his name withheld. What is good for the goose, is good for the gander too.

  2. @yusiff… why should they name the person when the name is not yet officially released. What if the source is wrong??

  3. It is refreshing that this abuse of power has made its way to the court of law. The incident appears to have not been waylaid within the hierarchy of the church. Church officials in the Caribbean region recently exercised damage control over a matter involving a more skilful, experienced and well-connected SVG pastor/predator who continues to enjoy the robust network of his church as he moves towards his next urge, opportunity and victim.

Know that there is no quick and easy fix for this aspect of the human condition.

Predators, in this context, rely on the spiritual confusion and loyalty of their victims. Meantime, churches continue to hold fast to the ages-old reputation for being the sword, “shield and buckler” for assorted sex offenders who take refuge within and cloak themselves in the vestments the pulpits provide.

Again, it is good to see that this matter has come to rest in the right place without successful obstruction from social bias and fickle perceptions.
