Two officers from the Rapid Response Unit of the police force spoke to students of the St. Clair Dacon Secondary School on their career day recently, encouraging them to stay focused.
Inspector Nolan Dallaway and Corporal Amanda Thomas encouraged the students to stay away from crime and take their education seriously, adding that with a sound education a bright future lies ahead of them in various fields.
The inspector also informed the staff of the school that his unit can be called upon at any time to speak with any students who might be having any problems.
Thomas encouraged the children to be respectful and make their parents, teacher and school proud.
She also told the students that while the school is just a building and it’s up to the individual to put in the effort.
How can Corporal Amanda Thomas, in all good conscience, tell students that “with a sound education a bright future lies ahead of them in various fields?” Is she unaware of the unemployment and underemployment rates in this country?
