St. Vincent and the Grenadines has recorded two COVID-19 deaths amidst an uptick in cases, Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves announced on Sunday.
Gonsalves said on WE FM that the country recorded 125 COVID-19 cases this year, 89 of them in July.
“So there’s an uptick,” he said.
“We have had two COVID deaths recently, in August. One on the first of August — that’s a person who’s 87 years old,” Gonsalves said.
“Another one on the second of August. That person, also an elderly person, who was at the Lewis Punnet Home,” he said, referring to a state-owned home for the elderly indigent or severely physically disabled.
The prime minister said the uptick is of concern to health authorities.
“But there’s a general uptick in the region with COVID, and also in the hemisphere. In the United States, for instance, you see that there’s an increased uptick,” Gonsalves said.
The prime minister said that the government has also identified 12 COVID-19 cases in emergency shelters housing people displaced by the impact of Hurricane Beryl, a category 4 cyclone that devastated the Southern Grenadines on July 1.
The prime minister said there were 1,322 people in shelters.
He said testing for COVID-19 is being done in shelters.
“But also immediately when a person has a symptom and that person then taken out from the shelter and being dealt with differently. Because you don’t want to have somebody in the shelter who was going to spread it,” he said.
“There are vaccines. Persons will take vaccines. If they don’t want to take the vaccine, well that’s that, but we encourage them to take the vaccine, obviously. At least the health authorities do.”
The prime minister said that people can get tested for COVID-19.
“There are a few establishments about and one or two departments in the government where one or two persons, a person gets, has COVID and they test the whole group of persons who are there,” Gonsalves said.
“Well, those which I know about, that is what has happened, and persons voluntarily submitted to their testing.”
Someone needs to pass the testimony of Robert Redfield to The World Boss. What is exactly does the “vaccine” do?
Is this a new feature of WordPress In IWN?
There was an uptick of covid in July which coincided with the carnival.season is any surprised to anyone? Hurricane Beryl could not stop the carnival and the jump up. However, someone has the ultimate power to do so.
Is there any other countries with this covid problem? Is it those who had the jab now getting covid? If so is it due to the influx of visitors for the carnival? If this is true, is it related to the mandate court case that is still pending? In my opinion something smells very fishy.
an mek ar yo nar say how much in dem thirties, forties, fifties, early sixties ah dead wid adverse effects / complications after having jab? ar yo really believe everybody dotish eh.
What vaccines?
I wanted a Covid 19 booster as I am travelling and obviously being on planes and in crowded airports is a risk, as is my age (over 60). I have no objection to vaccines at all as the science shows that they work, however I was last vaccinated against Covid in 2019.
I have hunted high and low in SVG for months and neither the Government health service nor any private clinic has a single shot of Covid 19 vaccine. Not one. In the whole country, not one.
Some pharmacies have test kits, but no one has vaccines.
I happy to pay for the vaccination if any pharmacy or clinic has one, or to pay the government, but it seems that nothing is available anywhere.
What uptick in Covid? First of all is there an accurate test for covid? Most people who did their research on the bogus (PCR) tests and any other tests, would know that they are useless when it comes to accuracy of a true positive. So, can anyone really say that they are positive for Covid. After all that we know now about the plandemic, why is anyone or any government for that matter still trying to pawn off a gene therapy product on its citizens???
