A man was shot and killed in Petit Bordel Sunday morning, bringing to two the number of people killed in that North Leeward village in as many days.

The latest victim has been identified as Othnell Lavia, aka Curtell, a 37-year-old farmer, the 32nd homicide victim in St. Vincent and the Grenadines this year.

Lavia is said to have been shot after an altercation with another villager sometime after 2 a.m.

His death follows that of Stanran Stapleton aka Standpide, of Rose Hall, who was shot and killed in Petit Bordel Friday night, 20 years after his father was killed in the village.

iWitness News was reliably informed that Stapleton was shot in the chest and back and investigators retrieved multiple spent shells from the scene in Plan, Petit Bordel.
