Central Kingstown MP St. Clair Leacock says that he takes no prisoners in politics and would “strip” Marvin Fraser, who the ruling Unity Labour Party (ULP) has selected as its candidate for the constituency.
Leacock, a vice-president of the main opposition New Democratic Party, will make a bid for a fourth consecutive five-year term as Central Kingstown MP in elections widely expected by November, ahead of the February 2026 constitutional deadline.
Fraser and will become the fourth ULP candidate to face off against Leacock since he first won the seat in 2010.
“You know, in politics, I take no prisoners; that’s how I am in politics. You come and you in the ring, I dealing with you,” he said at a campaign event in Green Hill, a Central Kingstown community.
He, however, said he was not taking any time at that meeting “in addressing the guy who says he’s running against me. Sufficient to say tonight, ‘Marvin, I have plenty, plenty to say about you; plenty!
“‘And it will come in drips and drabs. But the most of it would come after you sign on the line and you say you running and can’t come back. All hell will break loose.”
Leacock said that Fraser “must not come and present yourself to this people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines and this constituency with a Christian holier than thou. I will strip you piece by piece because seat ain’t come so”.
He said that while he was not spending a lot of time on Fraser, he remembers that in 2006 or thereabout, Fraser was part of the effort that unseated him as president of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation.
“… is long time you grudge me, you know; long, long time; long time,” Leacock said, adding that Fraser was part of the “wutlissness” (worthlessness) that resulted in him losing the football federation presidency by one vote.
“I had brought football to number 73 in the world,” Leacock said, adding that, on the contrary, under Fraser’s presidency, the International Football Federation found the SVGFF wanting.
“But that’s not your whole story. The whole story will be told later in the fullness of time. In the fullness of time. I will strip you! Remember Major said that,” Leacock said, referring to himself by his military rank, by which he is commonly referred.
“I will strip you because you all have a way of grudgingly, dishonestly and corruptly supporting worthlessness. Not once I have life in my body. You ain’t get away with that,” Leacock said.
Strip he tail major!!
No joke! Marvin, you will be shredded in the tiniest form. Major, being it on!
