Police in St. Vincent and the Grenadines are on the hunt for two suspected kidnappers even as a Vincentian Royal Navy officer was left with an injury to the eye and a car riddled with bullets in Belair after an alleged kidnapping on Monday.

Investigators have not commented on the cases besides issuing wanted bulletins for two people — Carrisa “Shemika” Neverson, of South Rivers, and Jamal McMaster, of Belair.

Well-placed sources told iWitness News that police had taken an adult male suspect into custody earlier on Monday when he surrendered at the scene in Belair where two alleged kidnapping victims were being held in a car in the pre-dawn hours of Monday.

An alleged accomplice fled the scene as police moved in.

The details of the cases are still emerging. However, around noon on Monday, investigators removed a bullet-ridden car, a green Nissan Tiida, from the scene in Belair as part of their investigations.

The car is said to have been driven there from Arnos Vale, where the two alleged kidnapping victims — a Vincentian woman enlisted in the Royal Navy — and a male relative who is a minor, were allegedly nabbed.

iWitness News was reliably informed that the two alleged victims were then driven to Belair.

However, one of the kidnapping victims is said to have secretly used a device to send messages to another person, who contacted the police.

iWitness News understands that when officers from a tactical unit of the police force arrived, they met one of the alleged kidnappers standing in the street outside the car, which was parked on the road near the Belair Playing Field.

That suspect fled the scene and escaped into the darkness nearby.

The other suspect, who was inside the vehicle, surrendered to police and was taken into custody.
The adult female who is said to have been kidnapped was taken to the hospital for medical attention, including for an injury to the eye.

Sources in the know said that police have theorised that the alleged kidnappers may have had a high-powered weapon.

When iWitness News visited the scene in Belair on Monday, officers from the Police Garage were assisting their colleagues from the Crime Scene Unit and other units in loading the car onto an unmarked police flatbed truck.

The car had what appeared to be several bullet holes to the front, including two in the windshield. The vehicle had even more of these holes in the rear windshield.

All of the holes were marked with police evidence tape.

Jamal Mc Master and Carris Neverson
Police issued wanted bulletins for Jamal McMaster and Carrisa “Shemika” Neverson on Monday, Dec. 29, 2025.

Meanwhile, in a wanted person bulletin on Monday, police described McMaster as 6 feet 1 inch tall, of slim build, dark in complexion, with a narrow face and dark brown eyes.

The bulletin said McMaster is a person of interest in an ongoing investigation into the offences of kidnapping and attempted murder.

“The offences are alleged to have occurred today, December 29, 2025. Investigations are ongoing, and police are actively pursuing all available leads,” the bulletin said.

It said that McMaster is considered armed and extremely dangerous.

“Members of the public are strongly advised not to approach this individual under any circumstances. Anyone who sees or knows the whereabouts of Jamal McMaster is asked to contact the nearest police station immediately.”

Meanwhile, in a separate bulletin, police described Neverson as 5 feet six inches tall, of medium build, light brown in complexion, with an oval face and brown eyes.

  1. The police needs to train dogs to follow suspects. This can and should be part of improving the police capability of finding criminals.
