‘The Legacy of Hugo Chavez Lives On’
A Conversation with Venezuela’s Ambassador to the UN
By Don Rojas
On Sunday, April 14 (just a few days away), the people of Venezuela will vote for a new president to succeed the late Hugo Chavez.
This election will be enormously significant, not just for Venezuela, but also for the entire Latin American and Caribbean region; indeed, in many respects, crucial to the destinies of many countries in the developing world.
There are reports circulating today that Washington is busy interfering in the election campaign with the objective of determining an outcome that will serve its imperial interests in the Americas.
I hope you can join me, and many others, in demanding that the State Department and the CIA stay out of the Venezuelan people’s internal affairs.
I also hope you can take a few minutes to watch a video interview that I conducted recently with Julio Rafael Escalona, Venezuela’s ambassador to the United Nations. The video is entitled “The Legacy of Hugo Chavez Lives On” and in it the ambassador speaks movingly about what Chavez and the ‘Chavista Movement’ means to the peoples of Venezuela, Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
He also addresses the future of Venezuela’s international initiatives such as PetroCaribe, CELAC, ALBA, the heating oil assistance programme in U.S. cities like New York, Boston and Detroit in the post-Chavez period.
DON ROJAS, whilst you may think that CHAVEZ was someone special, many in Saint Vincent and the rest of the World feel that he was a total Pratt, just as I personally believe Gonsalves is a total Pratt.
Chavez managed to brain wash the Venezuelan poor. He has spent billions on arms from Russia and tied the country up with scum leaders such as the Ahmadinajad and the Castro’s and all the silly little Caribbean island prime minister’s who are little more than village mayors in the real world. Silly little men who want to be real prime ministers but just can’t make the mark, idiotic men who like Chavez, just do not know how to behave properly. Men who do not deserve to be in power to ruin the lives of decent people.
Murders out of control under Chavez, all crime out of control under Chavez, inflation out of control under Chavez.
Wasting the countries money by giving oil and goods worth zillions to the Cubans in return for medical care, in the scheme of things worth only a paltry few millions.
Getting himself cancered up by mishandling a flask of uranium on its way to Iran.
Wasting the countries money by involving himself and Venezuela in an organization of his own making called ALBA. A conglomeration of crap countries led generally by Marxist scum and silly little pompous Pratt’s, only suitable for the garbage bin.
Every man woman and child in Venezuela could have been so well off today, there would of been no poverty at all and social housing for every poor family, instead he wasted all that money, public wealth flushed down the toilet by a red shirted bandit.
Then you Rojas, have the audacity to come here with this crap message.
The man is where he belongs, and there are many more leaders in South America and the Caribbean should join him there, as they say ‘good riddance to bad rubbish’.
WAKE UP AND SMELL THE SULPHUR
Good interview Don.
