KINGSTOWN, St. Vincent, April 18, IWN — Activities in the Busta Fruta 2013 SVG Gospel Festival will continue this weekend with several zonal gospel showcases being held around the country.
There are expected to be presentations in song, dance, drama and sermonette as the various artistes look towards being selected for the National Showcases, to be held at the Victoria Park on April 28 and 29.
The zonal showcases will be held as follows:
North Leeward – Friday — Faith & Life Pentecostal Church – 7 p.m.
Bequia – Friday — Paget Farm Community Centre – 7 p.m.
Kingstown – Friday – Faith Temple Church – 7 p.m. (song)
– Saturday – Faith Temple Church – 7 p.m. (dance/drama)
Marriaqua – Firday- Davis Square, Richland Park – 7 p.m.
– Saturday Davis Square, Richland Park – 7 p.m. – Sunday 21st – Davis Square, Richland Park – 5.30 p.m.
South Leeward – Saturday – Kingdom Life Ministries – 7 p.m. – Sunday – Vermont Miracle Church – 6 p.m.
North Windward – Sunday – Park Hill Community Centre – 6 p.m.
There is expected to be even more heightened interest and improved performances this year as Mt. Zion Productions, which is owned and operated by international gospel recording artiste Jason Providence, is offering a recording and video contract to the most outstanding performer in this year’s festival.
SVG Gospel Fest, which is into its 11th year, is being celebrated under the theme “Lifting Jesus Higher”.
This church thing has become a money making affairs. A better name should “SVG HAS TALENT”.
