A man died Monday after being involved in an altercation during Carnival celebrations in South Leeward.
The man has been identified as Junior McKie of Clare Valley, and the altercation is said to have taken place in Lower Questelles.
Initial reports are that there was a stone-throwing incident and McKie was struck in the head and subsequently died.
Two other persons were injured during the altercation.
South Leeward had a “pre-j’ouvert” event, which took the form of a party at an entertainment spot in Questelles from midnight Sunday, followed by festivities road on the from the venue to Questelles Beach.
