There were wins for Just for the fun, Alcoholix, Dr. Thomas Injectors, General Hardware Richmond Hill United and Bank of SVG All Stars as action in the Fourth Annual Dovers Electrical Services, East Kingstown Sports Association Softball Cricket Competition continued last weekend at the Grammar School Playing Field.

In one of two games played on Saturday, Just for the fun defeated Custom by 47 runs. Alcoholix batting first reached 99 for 7 off their 20 overs. Ronique Warren made 20. Kurtbert Springer 3 for 14 and Lorenzo Barbour 2 for 24 were the most successful bowlers for Customs.

Customs in reply were dismissed for 52 off 19.5 overs. Julius London grabbed 5 for 11. He was supported by Devon Nero’s 3 for 9, bowling for Just for the Fun.

In the game on Saturday, Alcoholix had a 6-wicket win over Valleys Boyz. Batting first Valleys Boyz were dismissed for 85 off 20 overs. Winston Bascombe made 22. Kenneth Lewis, 3 for 30, Courtney Joyette, 2 for 10, and Winston Holder, 2 for 14, were the main wickets-takers for Alcoholix. In reply, Alcoholix reached their target of 88 off 18.5 overs, and loss 4 wickets. Curbert Springer top-scored with 23, and Alshan Jack made 22. Winston Bascombe took 2 for 14, bowling for Valley Boyz.

In one of three matches played on Sunday, Dr. Thomas Injectors defeated C.K. Greaves Stars by 5 wickets.  Batting first, C.K. Greaves Stars reached 80 for 7 off their allotment of 20 overs. Ozico Williams top scored with 24. Len Grant took 3 for 18, and Ron Adam, 2 for 16, were the main wicket takers for Dr. Thomas Injectors. In reply Dr. Thomas Injectors reached their target of 82 for 5 off 14.3 overs. Ron Adam, putting in an all-round performance, topscored with 21. Ozico Williams took 3 for 16, bowling for C.K. Greaves Stars.

In the second game on Sunday, General Hardware Richmond Hill United got the better of Spartans by 74-runs.  General Hardware Richmond Hill United got first knock and reached 121 for 5 off their 20 overs. Zenroy Lee slammed 39, including 5 sixes. Damon Chance took 2 for 24, bowling for Spartans. In reply, Spartans were dismissed for 47 off 141.1 overs. General Hardware Richmond Hill United’s bowling was spearheaded by Justin Lee, 3 for 8. He was supported by Elroy Cumberbatch, 3 for 21, Zenroy Lee, 2 for 6, and Colin Lee, 2 for 12.

In the feature match on Sunday, Bank of SVG All Stars beat Combine Rangers by 111 runs. Bank of SVG All Stars were dismissed for 136 off 16.1 overs. Nyron Da Souza slammed 30, Godwin John made 21. Murray Laborde took 3 for 15, Cavalorn Simmoneth, 3 for 25, and Bernard Bushay, 2 for 15, were the most successful bowlers for Combine Rangers.

In reply, Combine Rangers were dismissed for 25 off 8.1 overs. Keon Boyea bagged 5 for 7 and Andrew Little 2 for 1.
