Nine primary schools are expected to compete in the 11th Primary Schools’ Public Speaking Competition on tomorrow — Wednesday.

The competition, which will commence at 9 a.m. at the Methodist Church Hall in Kingstown, is organized by the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment and the Ministry of Education, in association with Digicel.

The students in this year’s competition will be judged in a prepared speech and an impromptu segment. The topic for the prepared speech is “Small Creatures, Big Threat- Stop Vector Borne Diseases”.

Vying for the Digicel challenge trophy this year are Evesham Government, Bequia Anglican Primary, Kingstown Anglican, Marriaqua Government, Windsor Primary, CW Prescod Primary, Kingstown Preparatory, Belmont Government and the Barroullie Government Schools.

Paget Farm Government School was the 2013 Public Speaking Champion.
