Five charges have been brought against Antwone “Quincy” Anthony, the driver of the car that crashed into persons at the New Democratic Party’s meeting in Clare Valley on Saturday.

Edgar Cruickshank, a 78-year-old retiree of Questelles who was injured in the accident died in hospital that same night.

Several persons who were injured remain hospitalised.

Anthony, a 39-year-old vendor of Questelles, has been charged with being the driver of motor vehicle P119 caused Cruickshank’s death by dangerous driving.

He is also charged with using an uninsured motor vehicle, using an unlicensed motor vehicle, failing to renew his driving permit on his birthdate, and fraudulently using the identification mark P7516 on the vehicle.

Anthony was scheduled to appear in court this week, but was admitted to hospital after complaining of feeling unwell.

Anthony’s 4-year-old son, Antowne Antony Jr, was in the vehicle at the time of the accident.

    Well lets just hope and pray he doesn’t “fall of the planet” without explaining what actually happened on that fatal night! We need answers.
