On your crimson coast of SVG
Young souls lost in twisted metal
Their bodies crashing in the roaring sea
An image – an accident forever stained in our history
Mothers who lost shed tears that heal
Fathers lose resolve once hard as steel
Lord alone knows how they feel
So Lord God of hosts, I ask, be with us yet
Lest we forget – lest we forget!
These lives were so young
Perhaps they were not ready yet
Full of Life, Full of plans that cannot be completed
Instead;
Mothers dress their daughters that one last time
Fathers kiss their sons that one last time
And lest we forget there is a carpenter hard at work
And no matter what wood is used or what length is cut there is nothing he can do about the weight
As the smallest coffins always weigh the heaviest.
Lord God you are always there to remind us
Lest we forget – lest we forget!
