The SVG Rugby Union will be hosting its Third Annual Summer Youth Rugby Camp during August, beginning on Monday. The camp will be held Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 noon in the following communities:
- Kearton’s Playing Field: Aug. 3-7
- Georgetown Playing Field: Aug.10-14
- Chateaubelair Playing Field: Aug. 17-21
- Calliaqua Playing Field Aug. 24-28
The camp is open to both male and female youth in Grades 3 and above and the cost is free.
Participating youth should walk with water, a snack, clothes that can get dirty and sneakers/studs.
The camp focuses on teaching the foundations of the sport of tag rugby through fun and interactive games while building character and promoting life skills.
The camp ties into the greater goals of SVG RUGBY, mainly the grassroots Get into Rugby programme, which delivers tag rugby courses to primary and secondary age students at eight schools located throughout St. Vincent.
The grass roots programme has been running since January 2014.
