Two 15-year-old youths appeared in court on Thursday charged with the daring daylight armed robbery on Monday of a P.H. Veira & Co. Ltd. employee.
A third person, a 23-year-old resident of East St. George, remained in police custody as a suspect as investigations into the crime continue.
The youths, whose names cannot be disclosed because of their age, were not required to plea to the indictable charge when they appeared before Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne-Matthias at the Serious Offences Court.
They will reappear in court on May 10, 2017 for the commencement of a preliminary inquiry.
One of the youngsters, who is from South Leeward, is charged with possession of a firearm with intent to commit an offence.
He is also charged that on Jan. 30 in Kingstown, being armed with a gun, he robbed Dwight Ryan of Choppins of one black bag, valued EC$35, continuing EC$34,750 in cash and three cheques valued EC$2,165.05 (a total of EC$36,915.05), the property of P.H. Veira & Co. Ltd.
The second youngster, who is from Marriaqua, is charged with conspiracy to commit robbery.

Now the DPP can delay this case until these youths are 16, 17 or whatever age they could be charged as adults. They believe their age will save them from jail time, but if the commit the crime then they should do the time. Let them stay in jail until they are 65 or even 75.
