Medical Schools combined had to be surgical in their decision making, as they edged the Blue Chip Basketball Academy 31-30, in windy cool conditions, in an intense affair that characterised the final of the QuickCash Corp. SVG Community College Invitational Basketball competition 2020.
Both teams were locked 11-11 after the first quarter when The Medical Schools combined pushed ahead 15-11 at the end of a defensively stifling second period.
It was again all locked up, 21-21 after the third quarter before Medical Schools combined held their nerves to come away 31-30 winners.
Shazaad Khan was the man of the moment as the copped three awards; MVP of the Medical College combined, the MVP of the Final as well as MVP of the Tournament.
Shazaad Khan sunk a game-high of 13 points for the Medical Schools combined, while Reon Ollivierre bucketed 10 points for the BlueChip Basketball Academy.
Reon Ollivierre of the BlueChip Academy was the Best defensive player during the tournament, Maxroy Dublin the MVP of the Police Youth Club, Hanson Walker MVP of the Division of Teachers Education, Amenzia Johnny MVP of the Division of Technical and Vocational Education, Maxie Dublin MVP of the Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies, while Jonelson Compton was the MVP of the BlueChip Basketball Academy.
The 2020 QuickCash Corp SVG Community College Invitational Volleyball is up next, from Wednesday at the Arnos Vale Sporting Complex.
