The executive of the opposition New Democratic Party, which Sir James Mitchell founded in 1975, pays tribute to him as his body lay at the party’s headquarters, Democrat House, in Kingstown on 17 December 2021, after the official public viewing at the House of Assembly.

Sir James, 90, the second prime minister St. Vincent and the Grenadines, died in Bequia on 23 November 2021.

He will be buried in Bequia today, 18 December 2021 after a funeral service in Kingstown and Bequia.

  1. Great men do not die, they are just hidden from our eyes, RIEP SIR James, until we join you there. A man who had served ALL the people well, but will never be forgotten.
