Taiwan ambassador to St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Peter Sha-Li Lan, on Monday, handed over 10,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines to Minister of Health St. Clair “Jimmy” Prince.
Lan said the donation of 10,000 doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines is part of the commitment between Taiwan and SVG in jointly combatting the COVID-19 pandemic.
The vaccines come after the previous donations of rapid test kits, ventilators, oxygen concentrators, masks and a variety of personal protective equipment and medical supplies,
Taiwan will continue to work with the Government of SVG in various cooperation and promote the welfare of the people of SVG, the embassy said in a press statement.
The statement said Prince expressed appreciation on behalf of SVG, saying Taiwan is always there when SVG faces challenges.
He said the vaccines are in good hands and encouraged people to take the vaccine in the hope to end the pandemic soon.
