The nurse charged in connection with the 60kgs of cocaine found at the Owia Clinic last year January has pleaded guilty to one of the charges and not guilty to the other.
Lucresha Nanton, 35, pleaded guilty today, Friday, at the Serious Offences Court to a charge that on Jan. 22, 2022, at Owia, she had in her possession a controlled drug, to wit 59,939 grammes of cocaine with intent to supply.
She pleaded not guilty to possession of the drug for the purpose of drug trafficking.
Prosecutor Station Sergeant of Police Renrick Cato told the court that he would need some time to decide how to proceed as regards the not guilty plea.
He further said that defence counsel Ronald “Ronnie” Marks had served the prosecution with a document that morning.
The prosecutor told the court that he needs some time to peruse it.
Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne adjourned the matter to Monday.
Nanton’s bail continues.
