A Colombian, Martin Alonso Velez Velasquez and Vincentian Romaul Benn were, on Monday, remanded to prison for having 31,099 grammes (68lbs) of cannabis in their possession with the intent to supply to another.

The duo allegedly committed the offence at Green Hill on July 1.

The men appeared before Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne at the Serious Offences Court, on Monday, and pleaded not guilty.

Prosecutor Station Sergeant of Police Renrick Cato asked the magistrate to remand Velasquez to prison.

He didn’t object to bail for Benn and asked that reporting conditions and that stop notices be placed at all ports entry and exits.

  1. Black Kings says:

Free the men. That good weed now is legal in svg. Nobody shouldn’t be arrested for weed.Stop this crap.

  2. That’s unfair, both men should of remained in prison, now that looks like a racist thing, both men must treat the same, or is there’s something else we don’t know about
