A 27-member delegation from the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force Band is in Grenada on an eight-day official visit . 

The police band was invited by the Government of Grenada to participate in the nation’s 50th Anniversary of Independence celebrations, which will be held on Wednesday. 

The delegation is being led by the Band Master, Inspector of Police, Vaughn Miller. 

While in Grenada, the Police Band will participate in several events including “Up From Here – The Music Concert” on Friday, Grenada’s 50th Anniversary of Independence Ecumenical Service on Sunday, a Guard of Honour at Special Sitting of the Grenada Parliament and  Guard of Honour at the Maurice Bishop   International Airport  for the arrival of the President  of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo on Tuesday, the military parade on Wednesday to mark the 50th anniversary of independence and a tour of Grenada on Thursday.

“As a lead-up to the events, the RSVG Police Band will undergo several practice sessions and rehearsals with the Royal Grenada Police Force Band.,” the Police Public Relations and Complaint Department in Kingstown said.
