The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force says it is seeking the assistance of the public to identify the owners of two generators that they recently intercepted.
Police said that on Saturday they intercepted a vehicle aboard a vessel that routinely travels through the Grenadine islands, including Union Island, Mayreau, and Canouan.
“During this operation, two generators were discovered and seized for further investigation,” police said in a press release.
The Police are requesting anyone with information that may assist in identifying the owners of these generators to come forward.
People who believe they have a legitimate claim or have relevant information can contact the Criminal Investigations Department at (784) 456-1810, Police Control at (784) 457-1211, or the nearest police station.
“The RSVGPF remains determined to ensuring the return of property to its rightful owners and appreciates the continued support of the public in achieving this goal,” the press release said.
A nicely presented piece!
Why did the police take away the property? Do the owners owe tax? Is it illegal to have your own generator? I don’t understand after the government failed to repair the damages sustained by the residents they are not allowed to help themselves. ULP/Gonsalves want to wreck the place or make things very hard for the people.
SAMO, that is good police work. People are coming to the Southern Grenadines, stealing generators and other items then taking them to the mainland. It is disgusting and must be stopped!
What nonsensical headline is that? “Police intercepted generators.” Were the generators moving by themselves? Were the generators in motion on the ocean when they were intercepted? I hope the police arrested and charged the generators for leaving the mainland without permission.
