State officials, diplomats, and members of the public today, Friday 17 December 2021, paid final respects to Sir James Mitchell as his body lay in state at the House of Assembly in Kingstown.

Sir James, 90, the second prime minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines (1984-2000), died on 23 November 2021 after a brief illness.

His funeral takes place in Kingstown and Bequia tomorrow, Saturday, 18 December 2021.
