A Fairbaine Pasture man was gunned down in Kingstown around 6:30 p.m. Monday, taking the homicide count to 51, four shy of the record set last year.

The victim has been identified as Jarvis Horne aka Smadd Dan, who has become the second person from his community to be gunned down in weeks.

Horne is also the second person to be shot and killed in St. Vincent and the Grenadines since Friday.

He was attacked and shot multiple times in the upper body near the Public Health Department on Lindley Street.

A nine-second video circulated on social media showed a bloody Horne lying on the ground after being shot and the voice of an onlooker saying that Horne was shot in the chest.

A woman’s voice is also heard urging people to help her to take Horne to the hospital.

About the same time that the woman spoke, Horne rolled onto his stomach and another female voice commented that he was still alive.

Horne was taken to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, located a few hundred yards away, where he was pronounced dead.

His death follows that of Ronald Millington, who was shot and killed in Murray Village while on his way home around 10:20 p.m. on Friday.

Millington was killed just under six months after he injured his leg as he fled as a gunman killed Zeno Lee aka Sarge, in the East Kingstown community.

The other Fairbaine Pasture resident who was shot and killed recently was Jelani John aka Bolo, 37, who died in a neighbour’s yard, presumably having collapsed there after gunmen attacked him at home on Nov. 15.

  1. We will hear the truth of the matter soon from the government .
Do not forget last week announcement from the government ,“We do not have an increase in crime,” stated Shevrell McMillan, the prime minister’s press officer.
“Shevrell McMillan” . What do you have to “state” this week ?? ( the elections are 1 week closer now since your last “statement” )
We ( the country )are waiting …..or are they just flies falling every two days

  2. It was said that Jarvis was a bad boy. There is an old adage thatvsays ” never speak ill about the dead since they cannot defend themselves “. Reality is Reality though. Bad or good there I’d no justification for him to meet his fate. Rip.
