Bronson Parris, of Diamond, appeared before the Serious Offences Court in Kingstown, on Wednesday, charged with murder over the stabbing death of prophetess RoseClaire Williams, 60, on April 21.
Parris, who has a history of mental illness, appeared in court after an evaluation determined that he was fit to be interviewed.
His lawyer, Grant Connell, asked whether being fit to be interviewed meant also that he was fit to stand trial.
Parris was not required to plead at that stage to the indictable charge.
Chief Magistrate Colon John committed the accused to the Mental Health Centre for psychiatric evaluation to determine whether he is fit to stand trial.
The matter has been adjourned to June 15.
The body of Williams, a prophetess at Victory Kingdom Covenant Ministries Int’l, in Diamond, was found in her yard around 1:15 p.m. on April 21 with what appeared to be stab wounds.
When police reviewed CCTV footage in the area, they saw that Williams had been in her garden attending to her plants when she was attacked by a man with a history of mental illness.
Police then took Parris into custody and took him to a health facility for medical attention shortly after.

Alledly if he has a history of mental issues how can he be fit to stand trial??? Just asking
