A girl, said to be 17 years old, died in Kingstown after being involved in an incident with a truck during J’ouvert activities on Monday.

Reports indicate that the teenager, said to be a resident of the windward side of St. Vincent, was dancing near the truck and was somehow  run over by one of the wheels.

Reports are that she died in hospital.

Thousands of persons either ignored or did not know of a tropical storm watch for this country as they participated in Carnival activities Sunday night and Monday morning.

The warning remained in effect mid-morning Monday.

  2. I often observed and commented about this type of incident happening. It was only a matter of time before something like this happen. Now I’d bet that “they” would have some safety measures in place after the fact. Poor child just having fun and something so tragic. SVG has lost another youth.
