Europe-based Vincentian software engineer Janique-Ka John has launched an innovative interactive platform that presents historical election data for St. Vincent and the Grenadines dating back to 1994.
Driven by a longstanding passion for data accessibility, John has consistently advocated for the consolidation of local information to enable deeper analysis, whether at the national, regional, or international level.
Her newly developed tool, “Decision SVG” spans elections from 1994 to 2020.
The platform offers a detailed breakdown of votes by constituency and political party, including candidate names, vote counts, and rejected ballots.
It also highlights voter turnout and shifts in seat allocations, providing users with a clear snapshot of electoral outcomes over time.
John envisions widespread use of the tool and plans to leverage it for real-time results tracking on election night, bringing a modern, data-driven approach to the local electoral process.
Notably, she played a key role in organising the “Youth Night Coverage” of the 2020 elections, which was streamed live on YouTube, further demonstrating her commitment to civic engagement and technological innovation.

Kudos to Ms. John for her commitment to enabling deeper analysis of election data and her ability to translate that commitment into a practical tool. I look forward to seeing it in action.
